If I tell you, you can touch the sky
will you listen?
If I believe I can float
Will I fly instead?  

And while all eyes stop and stare beside me
Why can't I look to the sky
Why do we all need to be the same
To think the same and learn the same
We are people

As I walk people whisper to each other
How I look
How I think
How I am

And even if I'll never truly understand it
I'll always be the one who steps up to the street
Yelling to the heavens above me
To be different
To be free

In the school I can hear what they call me
An odd one
A weirdo  
and a freak

But if I walk away and just don't listen
And look up to the sky
If I turn my head in your direction
You all look to the ground
